Montgomery, Texas:

Montgomery is located at the junction of Texas 105 and FM 149, near the southwestern edge of Sam Houston National Forest and only 50 miles northwest of Houston.

Montgomery is recognized as the birthplace of the Texas Lone Star Flag  and offers guests a memorable visit with its preserved 19th Century Historic Downtown District. As one of the oldest towns in Texas- It began as a trading post in 1826.

Step back into the boomtown days as you explore Conroe’s charming downtown, lined with restored century-old buildings, art galleries, boutique shops, and cozy cafes.



Fernland Historical Park

Located within the heart of downtown Montgomery, Fernland Historical Park is a unique hands-on educational park, bringing samples of early Texas architecture together with examples of early Texas life. The log homes and cabins presented within the park are some of the oldest remaining structures in Texas.



Southern Empress Cruises

A 19th Century ‘s boat departing for lunch, dinner and cocktail cruises on Lake Conroe. Southern Empress Cruises  offers a chance for you to enjoy a three-hour dinner cruise on Lake Conroe.


Shopping anyone??

Nearby areas not to be missed include the town of Conroe which has small town appeal and big city attractions.  The Outlet Mall, Conroe Market Place and Texas Crossing Shopping Center provide wonderful shopping experiences that should not be missed.

If it’s shopping you love, drive a few miles south of Conroe on Interstate 45, about 35 minutes away the mall at The Woodlands await you. In world class shops and restaurants you’ll find everything you want, and more.

Another place to visit is Old Town Spring , located 1 mile East of Interstate 45 at the end of Spring Cypress this quaint turn of the century town is composed of shops, restaurants, museums and art galleries.  It is not a mall, but instead a place to get outside and shop, dine while you step back in time.

NASA Space Center

A trip to this area would not be complete without a visit to the NASA Space Center in Houston.  One of the most popular attraction in the whole Houston area, the Space Center offers exhibits and activities that give children and adults alike a thrilling experience  including the Feel of Space weightless gallery, the lunar orbiter simulator, and the NASA control center.

The Moody Gardens Galveston Island

Within Galveston Island enjoy Moody Gardens with soft, white sand beaches and blue freshwater lagoons surrounded by exotic landscaping.  The Aquarium and Adventure playground offer interactive play at “the beach.”
