While many of the Southeast members have spent their summers traveling in their motor homes, my husband and I have stayed pretty close to home.  That is about to change as our Fall Rally is just weeks away.  While the rally is just a few short miles from our coach’s home, it will be fun to be back with all our RVing friends again.  We have missed visiting with everyone and are very excited to have you in our hometown of Punta Gorda.

Of course, by the time this issue of the magazine is published, the Punta Gorda Rally will be concluded.  I am confident that our rally hosts, Mark and Jackie Belcher, Jack and Joanie Brier and Tom and Cathy Palmer will have provided us with a fun-filled rally as there is much to do and see in the charming little town of Punta Gorda.  Hope those of you who were interested were able to attend.

Southeast will again travel to Sun N Fun for its’ annual Christmas Rally, December 5 through 9, 2019.  This has been a very popular event at this award-winning RV resort.  The attendees of this rally in the past have participated in an “ugly sweater” contest.  Rumor has it that the ugly sweater contest has been put on the shelf and a “motor home decorating” contest will take place.  Watch for the rally agenda and come prepared with your Christmas decorations for your coach.  Given the competitive nature of the Southeast members, I think this could be a very exciting contest!  Our thanks to rally hosts Brett and Sandy Sloan, Bob and Sue Moore and Martin Mancuso for all your hard work.

We will be hosting the 9th annual Eastern Regional Rally at Lazydays in Seffner, Florida, January 11 through 14, 2020.  This rally will be held just before the Florida RV Supershow.  It includes three nights at Lazydays RV Campground, catered meals and entertainment.  Registration form and agenda are available at and  Sites are limited so be sure to register.   Thanks to Ed and Susan Lightfoot for volunteering to handle the entertainment for this event.

Southeast will again be attending the Florida Supershow January 14 through 19, 2020.  Registration for the Supershow became available October 1 and is quickly sold out so I am hopeful you remembered to register as this is a very popular event.  SEACA has attended this event for the past three years and every year our number of participants has gotten bigger and the rallies just get better each year.  REMEMBER registration must be made through the Florida Recreational Vehicle Trade Association (FRVTA).  The website is or call 813-741-0488.  We go in as a group one day early (Tuesday, January 14) at no additional charge.  Be sure to tell them you are with SEACA.

There are also rallies planned for Disney’s Fort Wilderness in February 3 through 6 or 7 or 8, 2020 and St. Augustine, Florida in April 16 through 20, 2020.  Our hosts for both these rallies are already busy at work planning.  Reservations for Fort Wilderness should be made by calling Hilda Neal (302 5998 8892), tell her you are with Southeast Chapter of ACA. Registration for St. Augustine is now available online at  Only 30 sites are reserved so register early.

The Southeast Chapter is always looking for new and exciting places to hold our rallies.  If anyone has any suggestions for rally destinations, please let us know.  We are a very adventurous group and enjoy trying new places.

I want to take a moment to thank Bev DeAngelis for all her hard work.  Bev is stepping down as President of the Great Lakes Chapter of ACA.  While I have worked with her for only a short time, I am aware of all her she has done for the ACA and the Great Lakes Chapter.  I know she will remain active in the Chapter and look forward to seeing her at various events.  Welcome to Jerry Pickett who is stepping up to the office of President.  Best wishes to you Bev and to you, Jerry.

Hope to see you soon at one of our many upcoming rallies.

Don’t forget to vote on the bylaw amendments.

Let me know if you have any questions, suggestions, or are interested in volunteering.
