Southeast President Letter

The Southeast Chapter has been very busy with rallies in February, April and May.

In February, fifteen coaches met at Disney’s Fort Wilderness. As is reflected in one of the theme park’s name, it is a “Magical Kingdom”. So much so, that the attendees voted to return in 2020. A special thanks to Hilda Neal for all her efforts in assuring that the SEACA members were in the same general area as well as the VIP treatment she gave us and to our own Ken Browning and Johnny Spacek for serving as our rally hosts. The personalized breakfasts and homemade bread pudding Ken prepared, will mark this as one of our more memorable rallies. Thank you very much everyone.

Our Spring Rally at Florida Grande rally was a sell- out. Thirty-five coaches were registered. Our rally hosts Sandra Gallup and Belinda and Terry Moorefield put together a rally full of good food, fun-filled days and great entertainment. Thanks Sandy, Terry and Belinda for all your hard work.

We are preparing for the three-day pre-rally to the national rally in Texas. We will be joined by the Happy Wanderers. Our pre-rallies are a great way for our new comers to get to know the members by attending our relaxing social hours. As this article is being written, this rally is close to being a sell-out, so if you have not made your reservations it may be too late. SEACA Vice President Ray Shea sent out a few emails reminding folks to register for the rally and sign up for any vendor work you might need done. Hopefully you followed up and got your name on all the appropriate lists. Look forward to seeing many of you in Texas.

A unanimous vote of last year’s rally attendees will bring Southeast back to the Gulf Waters RV Resort in Fort Myers Beach in October. This is a top-rated facility with great sites and a large well-equipped meeting room. The resort is near the beach and there is much to do in the area. Rally hosts Mark and Jackie Belcher and Bob and Carol Ide have begun the planning for this fun rally.

Southeast will again hold its Christmas rally at the award-winning Sun N Fun Resort in Sarasota FL. Another area where there is much to do. Additionally, our rally hosts Brett & Sandy Sloan, Martin Mancuso and Bob & Sue Moore will have put together a fun filled agenda.

Plans for January 2020 are almost complete. The Happy Wanderers and SEACA are once again getting together for a pre-rally to the Regional. Registration for the 2020 Regional is available on the Southeast website. I look forward to seeing you there.

The Supershow is always a well-attended event and I am sure 2020 will be no exception. This will be our fourth annual adventure at the Supershow and each year our rallies have gotten bigger and better. Registration must be made through the Florida Recreational Vehicle Trade Association. Registration becomes available in early Fall and sells out rapidly.

Information, agenda and registration for our rallies is available at www.myamericancoach.com and www.southeastaca.net.

Welcome to Southeast’s newest members! Russ & Joyce Casella, Yorba Linda, CA and Donald & Virginia Eitner from Morehead City, NC.

We are always looking for new rally sites and new rally hosts. If anyone has any suggestions for rally locations or is interested in volunteering to host a rally, please do not hesitate to contact me.
