Western Regional Chapter News

Hey there from the Western Regional Chapter!

Well, here we are the first week of August writing the Western Regional Chapter letter for the ACA magazine. All I can say to start is I am tired of the heat! Of course, I say that every year about August.

Many thanks to all the Western Regional Chapter members for their help making the 2021 National Rally in Granby, CO a total success. After the rally seemed like everyone went off in different directions.

Becky and I were joined by Ros and Mariette De Giaxa for a trip north from Granby to Big Fork, MT on Flathead Lake; what a beautiful location. Highly recommended for a bucket list item. It was a bit hot like all the locations we visited. From there to Lake Coeur d’Alene, ID and fantastic fireworks show that took place 50-yards from our coach. Our poor Labrador Abby was not impressed. We were visited within a few feet by two moose in our campsite! Man, those things are huge! Also hot all weekend. We did venture up to Blanchard, ID. For a day trip to Stone Ridge RV Resort and some surrounding rivers, campgrounds, and nice wooded areas. Then out to the Oregon coast for some cooling off before heading south for home.

I hope you all had amazing travels as well.

We are looking forward to the upcoming Western Regional Chapter rallies in Chula Vista / San Diego area the end of September. Followed by the Verde Rancho RV Resort in Rancho Verde, AZ in late October.

The 2022 rally calendar is starting to take shape; with the annual “No Rain Rally” in February, sponsored by the Adams. Followed by the Winchester Bay, OR Rally October 20-23 sponsored by the Caldwell’s.  Also, Charlie Chase has arranged 30-spaces on Sept 22—26, 2022 in the Montrose/Ridgeway, CO. That leaves much of 2022 open for our members to put their hat in the ring for a rally????

I was informed our Western Regional Chapter member and master of ceremonies at the National rally in Granby, BJ Stampley, took a fall off a 15-foot ladder and suffered some broken bones, etc, but survived. Here is wishing him a speedy recovery!

Travel safe! Before you know it, we will all be making Holiday plans!
